Summary Of Mount Druitt Community Forum For Candidates - Sponsored By Mount Druitt-St Marys Standard

Yes in summary my first one for Mount Druitt and I had big expectations that there would have been a great community interest in relation to meeting candidates.

What was pleasing is the Hon. State Members of Londonderry, Mr Allan Shearan and Mount Druitt, Mr Richard Amery acted sincerely and cordially, in respect to what they stand for and the advised of decisions they make on a conscious vote for or against party politics. Also the other candidates were thorough in their local knowledge and in their party politics as well. Deb Robertson candidtae for Mount Druitt Greens, david Vincent Mount Druitt Christian Democratic Party and Caroline Fraser Candidtae for Christian Democratic Party, Londonderry.

The two big state issues came up being: nurses required for Mount Druitt Hospital ratios 4 patients :1 nurse, provision for Mental Health Services required at Mount Druitt Hospital, Maternity Ward required at Mount Druitt Hospital, airconditioning required at school that have their Federally funded school halls and were not supplied air-conditioning, Schools - more experienced teachers ratio of 1:6, voting against  lowering the age of the Homosexual consent age to 16,voting against decriminalisation of personal use of illicit and recreational drugs, court house recently built - none before and........................ you guessed it 'Public Transport':
  1. Mount Druitt  220 Car Park was on its way and  is in the planning stage - feed back was MDCIG had a suggestion that it should have been for 500 cars and undercover roofing from the Car park to the ramp/ lifts/escalators.
  2. Former Transport Minister private invitation by Allan Shearan to visit the Gasmatta Crescent area - thus due the safety issues rerouted onto samarai road  linking to Gasmatta Crescent - due to unpopularity of deleted services
  3. Labor policy to build Parramatta to Epping Rail Link, building western express ( which will stop at Mount Druitt train station) extra capacity to travel - claims Liberals will scrap these improvements - that these services will benefit Mount Druitt commuters by providing more efficient train services.
  4. Mount Druitt Train station upgrade with new electronic signals both top concourse and on platforms - so that  it is updated like other major stations - allowing commuters to read when next train is coming or going  - -speakers are currently noisy for residents in the morning and  thus allow for electronic signs to accommodate commuters and provide upgrade plants around the station and platform.
  5. Better weekend bus services, Shalavey, Bidwill, North St Marys and Minchinbury - hard for some people to get to work or fundays. A better awareness of missile throwers as to  have the community informed  as to maximum penalty for this crime is $5,000 - a community alert system to advise police when positional matters of this crime arise!
  6. Better bus stop awareness of accessibly for bus shelters, funding of and provision for.connecting between trains and bus\es allwoing5 minutes to wait for trains.
Some good improvements for Mount Druitt!
