NSW Labor Policy - Transport - General!

This is the Labor party Policies on transport in general, here is the link:

Better Transport

We are building better roads and delivering more public transport services across NSW.
What we’re doing
The Keneally Labor Government will cap increases in public transport to the rate of CPI, easing the burden on families.
We have already introduced MyZone, making fares simpler and cheaper for commuters and announced a fare freeze, ruling out any increase to public transport fares in 2011.
The Fairer for Families Act means that further increases to public transport fares will be capped at CPI.
At the same time, Labor will deliver more services to more areas. More buses on the road, more train carriages and more comfortable, air-conditioned seats.
We have delivered over 150 of the new 1000 growth buses that we will be rolled out as part of the Metropolitan Transport Plan with an extra 200 new replacement buses to phase out all buses without air-conditioning.
The new Metrobus network has 13 routes that are providing fast, frequent connection between major centres.
Work has started on the fully funded  $2.1 billion South West Rail Link to extend the CityRail network into the South West Sydney Growth Centre.
We’re expanding capacity on the CityRail network by duplicating the Richmond Line from Quakers Hill to Vineyard and quadrupling the East Hills Line from Kingsgrove to Revesby. We’ll build the Parramatta to Epping Rail Link in partnership with the Commonwealth Government – unlike the Coalition, who will hand back $2 billion in Commonwealth funding secured by Kristina Keneally.
We’ll build the Western Express and City Relief Line – providing over 6000 extra seats on air-conditioned trains for Western Sydney commuters every hour during the peak.  This project will also add extra capacity for more trains to travel into the CBD – Barry O’Farrell will scrap these improvements.
We have delivered 285 train carriages for the CityRail and CountryRail network and we are also delivering the largest order of new trains in the State’s history – which means all trains will be air-conditioned and we will have more seats on more air-conditioned trains.
We’re expanding Sydney’s light rail network through the Inner West and Sydney CBD.  Work has begun on the extension of the light rail network from Lilyfield to Dulwich Hill.
We’re delivering a total of 8000 new commuter car parking spaces to make it easier to use public transport.
What we’ve done
We’ve built 78 kilometres of new rail lines including:
  • The Sydney Olympic Park Line
  • The Cronulla Line duplication
  • The Chatswood to Epping Rail Link
We have invested $1.9 billion CountryRail network.
We have delivered over 2800 new buses with another 1000 extra growth buses to come.  We have introduced the highlight successful Metrobuses and new free shuttle bus services in Wollongong, the Sydney CBD, Gosford, Liverpool and Campbelltown.
