Have received patronage figure of commuters on Rooty Hill train station and this shows a 1.1 percent increase for a period of six months. What does that mean for the future - that could mean forward estimates of 11 percent increase in six years. What happens in the mean infrastructure may remain the same, unless there is a slight increase in trains stopping at Rooty Hill during this period on future time tabled services:

- What number of rail tickets have
been sold from the Rooty Hill Railway Station for each of the six months
ending 31 May 2012?
- (a) Do these figures represent
an increase in patronage for train travel from this station in comparison
to previous periods?
(b) If so, what are the details of this increased patronage?
Answer—
- and (2) The official measure for
rail patronage is passenger journeys.
A comparison of passenger journeys for the periods December 2010 to May 2011 (470,859) and December 2011 to May 2012 (475,963) shows an increase of 5,104 journeys which represents a 1.1 per cent increase.
