We are today launching to Councillors/ Candidates 'Public Transport Commitment Statement', starting with members of our group who have got Mount Druitt commuters at heart and running for Blacktown City Council Ward 4 and 5 Council elections on 8th September 2012. This has never been done before in Mount Druitt and also in Blacktown City Council.
Today we have Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson ( Liberal) and Candidate Debbie Robertson (Greens) from Ward 5, who have made a commitment to investigate public transport issues and provide us help for the future of public transport (See below). We also have the Joan McIntyre (Independent) from Ward 4, who will provide her 'Public Transport Commitment Statement' and we will refer this to you once it is received. She and her group ticket is supporting public transport as well.
Behind is the sing on the bud 'Free Shuttle' - this could be a hint for the future!
Some commuters/community members may find it hard to see that we have direct support from Liberals and Greens - that how it has happened so far. We do get support from Labor but at the moment it is not as much as it should be! maybe this this change as we have now offered the commitment statement to all candidates of Wards1,2, 3,4 & 5, of which I have obtained e-mails. As the responses come in we will be able to upload them on our blog!
We are being fair across the board, offering this Document to be completed by as many candidates as possible!
