We (S.O.B.S) ends up as Western Sydney 'Zest Finalists'

Well what a night, 250 guests, 73 nominations from groups/individuals for eleven categories and the Minister of Western Sydney, David Borger. What more could you ask for?

Tonight was the 'Inaugural Western Sydney 'Zest' Awards' held at the Sebel Parramatta The organisation that was holding this was the Western Sydney Community Forum, which went without any issues or troubles.

Here are the details why 'Zest Awards' are here:

Greater Western Sydney Community Sector Service Awards

Background:

One of the outcomes of the Stronger Voice for Western Sydney Community Consultation Forum, held March 2010 in Blacktown, was the identification of the need to have activities that promote the positive image of Western Sydney i.e. an awards event. Therefore WSCF, in partnership with other organisations working to build a Stronger Voice for Western Sydney, have agreed to establish an annual community service sector awards event.

Purpose:

The Awards would:
  • Recognize, honour and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by NGOs operating across the Greater Western Sydney region.
  • Raise awareness of and acknowledge the positive impact that community capacity building activities can have within the Greater Western Sydney region.
  • Encourage community involvement and participation in promoting a positive image for Western Sydney.

Eligibility to receive an award:

To be eligible to be nominated for an award the organisation, project or individual must:
  • Have shown Zest, Enthusiasm, Strength and Tenacity throughout their activities within Western Sydney
