Well there has been a an election tremor, shock waves hit the Labor Party with the latest results of Blacktown City Council Election.
Reports of 10 percent swing to the Liberal Party in the local election indicates people wanted a change. Although it was a strong swing, the Council will have 7 Liberals, & Labor and Independent.
So it will be interesting to see a balance of power change after 21 years.
Some of the comments I heard during the election was - some people didn't know it was on - not many articles to read in the Local papers, some people had enough of the previous Labor Blacktown City Council! It reminded myself when Federal labor won the 1972 Election they ran with the Slogan, ' It's time'.
In the Seven Hills side, I hear focus is mostly in Blacktown/ Mount Druitt not much initiatives in the Seven Hills area!
I hope our group will be able to work with the newly elected Councillors as we strive to get the improvement of transport, within Mount Druitt areas.
