Busways Advertisement For Taking Over Sydney Bus Region 1 - Mount Druitt St Marys Standard

Busways New Bus Depots And Now All Bus Drivers Covering all of Sydney Bus Region 1- Mount Druitt- St Marys Standard!

The new changes in Busways taking over the bus operation of Bus Region 1, is going to test the limits Busways can provide to provide  efficient , more reliable future and we will see what they will do  to promote public transport and travelling on local buses to in crease patronage as well. Busways have  a 3 year trial with an extension of 2 years if successful, so honest good  feedback whether it  be negative or positive must be provided by the local community through our group, comments on any published blogs and using the 131500 website and phone.

Here is the  article from the Mount Druitt St Marys Standard:

Tell us what you think. There will be confusion as from the 6th October 2013 with some local bus commuter not catching Busways buses as they have been used to catching  Westbus buses. In time that will be reduced!

Busways On Time Running Report On Current Timetables!

We hear how commuters have issues with on time running of public transport, especially bus services and that is one of the gripes that seems to be coming up the majority of the time.

The secret is out, Busways at Glendenning Depot have provided on the notice board (for the first time), their recent on time percentages for  Region 1, resulting at 99.06% accuracy of time.

I  have seen a report recently that bus region 1:  had an on time  percentage of about 92% - when I find this will update details. If that is the case Westbus would be fractionally less on time then Busways!

Busways Are Preparing For Taking Over Region 1 Bus Contracts & So Is Busways Head Office Moving From Pymble!

Busways are preparing themselves for the taking over of  NSW Bus Contracts Region 1: Depots based will be based at Plumpton, Penrith and Richmond/Windsor area, whilst former Westbus bus services will be maintained with the change over.

They even have employed 30 more bus drivers to cover increased trips and are implementing strategies in Mount Druitt area, that will provide a modern bus running system. This will be used for example: when buses run late there will be a spare driver and bus within the three above mentioned areas, to pick up the commuters that will not be running so late. This is an impressive idea that I think will do Busways justice in winning the Bus Region 1 Contracts.

At present, there are time keepers at Mount Druitt bus interchange checking the current time tabled bus services, preparing for the new Bus time tables coinciding with the Sydney rail train time tables, in October 2013.

Also in plans is the Busways Head Office which will move from Pymble in Sydney's upper north shore to  a new premises in Western Sydney's Rouse Hill area. They will also be seeking jobs to be filled up as well - a good opportunity for people from the west to apply for  vacant position, when available.

Busways New Timetables Reason for 21/12/12

Well, I requested information from Busways Group Development Manager for Busways, Andrew Glass in relation to any major changes to the new timetables as advised in our blog: Busways New Time Tables In Bus Region-1 and I can happily say instant response has been received.

The doors of communication have been opened and I can see that there is positive vibes coming from our new found relationship, where we can receive efficient vital communication so that the public can be more informed.

As quoted  by Mr. Glass, the time tables  have no major effect on time tables itself except to commence 2013 with more accessible buses  for to go over their Key performance indicator of being DDA compliant.

'The changes relate to timetable updates that show more accessible buses operating.  From January 1, 2013, we need to operate at least 55% of trips with an accessible bus to meet DDA requirements - and our latest changes will actually take the figure closer to 60%.

So there are no time or route changes – just more trips marked with a wheelchair symbol!'

Thank you Mr. Glass for your feedback on behalf of Busways!

Westbus Bus Drivers Are Worried If they Lose Their Work Conditions: Years Of service, Sick Leave Entitlement Saved, Etc

Yes, bus drivers are talking of the New Bus Region 1 Contracts - although discussions do not really concern us, it concerns their life  and possibly how they perform their job.

Westbus bus drivers are worried of their entitlements not  being lost. That is  accrued sick leave, long service leave and also seniority ranking! I'm sure this is dealt with within the Bus Region 1 contracts between Transport for NSW, Ministry of Transport and  Busways to handle this this in a professional manner that will not create any upheaval and disturbance to  our future time tables.

On the good point Westbus bus drivers who live in  the Mount Druitt to Blacktown area , may be able to request to perform their duties in routes in this areas and also Busways bus driver who may live out west of Mount Druitt may be able to perform their duties of service  from west of mount Druitt!

Westbus Drivers Jobs Will Be Safe - With Busways Taking Over The Bus Region One Contracts!

There are times we get good news and there time we get better news! A transport officer within Busways has advised myself that although I may have been worried that Westbus bus drivers may be losing their jobs -  what I commented on before is that their jobs are safe in Bus Region 1.

This can be a comforting news for the Westbus drivers who maybe wondering if Busways would not require the services of the Westbus Drivers and  were going to employ their own bus drivers. This is fair for all!

New Bus Contracts Region 1 - May Solve Rivalry Amongst Bus Operators In Mount Druitt!

Yes, now the new bus contracts for Region 1 has been resolved, one main issue will also be resolved is the Bus stop issue at the Mount Druitt Interchange which has been between Busways and Westbus drivers the last few weeks.

Since Busways will be taking over there will be no dispute about Busways placing their bus in the same bus stop - that was in dispute (Well unless Busways drivers dispute over Busways drivers!).

PROBLEM SOLVED!

NSW Bus Contracts - How Do They Effect Commuters?

It was unbecoming to me that some commuters think there could be a complete negative affect on  time tables of buses around the area.

With my limited knowledge of bus contracts, it is simply very simple to resolve these thoughts. It is where bus operators are all tendering for  areas to manage and operate buses. The negotiations are top secret (and to me should be)  and  no direct feedback from community/ transport group because it is like this:  it is like anyone applying for a job with an employer and negotiating  what they will do provide the ultimate service. Even these dealings are kept within secrecy.

If anything, the commuter feedback is not required as it has no direct affect on the outcome.

It doesn't have any negative affects of say reducing time tables and or services - that is done during the bus review program - this is where commuters/ transport advocacy groups need to have their say!
