These awards are being sponsored by the Minister of Western Sydney, Mr David Boerger and he states, 'They will acknowledge, honour and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by non-government organisations (NGOs) operating across Greater Western Sydney.’’

One of the basis of any applicant is, 'Individuals and organisations (funded and non-funded) which focus on capacity building and advocacy and can demonstrate evidence of Standing Up for Western Sydney and must be working the 14 Local Government Areas of Greater Western Sydney.

The annoucments will be made on the 9th February 2010.
