Anne, one of our prominent group members witnessed tremendous and outstanding customer service provided by a Busways Driver. Here is what happened:
On last Thursday Anne was waiting at the bus stop down Rooty Hill Station (down the ramp heading to Mount Druitt) and notice a gentleman in a wheelchair who wanted to catch the 737 but Anne advised her the next bus to Mount Druitt 756 was due with 5 minutes - this was around 4pm that day. Anne advised that the Rooty Hill Still will be upgraded soon to allow for more accessible commuters to catch it . This commuter was happy
When the bus route 756 arrived, it wasn't an accessible bus so the bus driver didn't want to eave the commuter strand- got out of his seat and actually picked up the wheelchair with the commuter and placed him on top of the stairs - then came lady a lady with a child & pram. The bus driver folded the pram - took it inside the bus and the mother was able to take her with her and sit inside the bus . Anne was already inside the bus.
This apparently took 5-6 minutes for this to happen and no one could enter the bus as this bus has narrow aisles. After getting of the bus at Mount Druitt Anne advise the wheelchair commuter that she took down the bus drivers number to high commend him for the exceptional customer service he provided outside his main duties. She has requested to me to add him as a 'Happy Bus Driver' on our list and we have - she will also notify 131500 through there chanels.
