Mount Druitt Bus Interchange is a fairly modern interchange, yet one of the main issues that it is attributing to the ugliness of it, is the regular throwing of rubbish on roofs. What is needed is probably - total blocked walls (like the walkway), preventing any rubbish missiles being thrown there!
If you have any other ideas let us know!
This morning, I met Hon. Ed Husic, Federal Member for Chifley and we discussed an important issue which is requiring immediate improvement. This week since Monday, it appears that the escalators at the Mount Druitt bus interchange have not been working.
A Mount Druitt Sydney Trains Officer has advised that what happens a lot is young children press the 'Emergency Stop Button' and runaway. This happens a lot.
I might refer this to Mr. Ed Husic to see what can be done to prevent this stupid action. Understanding there needs to be an accessible 'Emergency Stop Button', can it be placed somewhere else where these young ones do not operate it or can a hard polycarbonate clear plastic guard be placed on/over it?
I also think that NSW Transport should investigate this issue immediately, to prevent more potential stoppages of the escalator for commuters.
By the way, the escalator was working on the way back today home today! Hooray!
I have been advised by a NSW Transport Officer, that the lift taking commuters up and down to the Westbus bus stands, will be out of service being fixed up, so that all repairs are made to enable a proper working state, once it is completed.

Sometimes City Rail have to ensure these lifts are well maintained, so that commuters can be ensured it can be used for its purpose in the future.

This is a quote from Ron on the Western Sydney Public Transport Users - Face Book Group:
Arriving at the Mount Druitt Bus interchange about 10am, The interchange had come to a standstill. A private car had caused an accident between two buses at the drop off zone. It appeared the private car caused a Busways bus to brake hard causing a Westbus to ram the rear left hand side of the Busways causing extensive damage to both buses . Police were on site when we arrived. This was one rare occasion I didn`t have a camera with me. This demonstrates just how much more space is needed for these buses and this interchange as it is now is an avoidable disaster waiting to happen. Same to are the single door buses, sure there are items to brake glass. Tell me how injured people may be able to brake glass in an emergency?

Editors Notes: This is something not only myself but other members of our group have been advocating for and will lobby the relevant government bodies to do this.
I know they are cleaned up at times, and other times they are used by some public transport commuters as dumping ground (or roof in this instance) for unwanted rubbish.
The message is simple - keep the rubbish you want to throw in your own possession and throw it in a public rubbish bi scattered along Dawson Mall and the bus interchange itself. By throwing rubbish on the top of roofs - creates more expenses and therefore is a partial reason why fares goes up (increased expenses).
We will refer to the relevant authorities to have it organised as cleaned:

Two days ago West bus Time Keepers (2 of them) needed to check the time running of their bus services and bus drivers. It appears they are checking to see if the release of the new region 1 West bus time tables are running to better time tables - next day not there!!!!
