Rooty Hill Train Station Needs New Security Camera And Access Lifts!

 I was shocked the other day noticing that vandals had wrecked the security camera facing the Rooty Hill  train station platform. I hope that our local State Member for Mount Druitt and all public transport stake holders can look at  replacing immediately, to make it safer for commuters.

You can also see that there are long steps up and down to reach the train station platform and  also a long walkway to more outer steps/ramps to get out of the train station on the North side! We are still lobbying for this and  have a feeling it may come in before  next years State Election.

Another Rooty Hill Train Station Upgrade Petition - Mr Richard Amery - Member For Mount Druitt!

We believe in improvements which provide efficient, more reliable and comfort to all commuters, in and around Mount Druitt, in relation to public transport. 

Thus, we are promoting the State Member for Mount Druitt, Mr. Richard Amery's  petition for an upgraded Rooty Hill train station petition to make it more accessible.  We know from last year when the Federal Member for Chifley, Mr. Ed Husic, also had a post card petition for the same petition. I don't know what the result of  it and was wondering what the affect could be from a Federal Member, in relation to a State issue. Although Federal  blessing who be a strong reference.

My understanding it is in the system from upgrade within the next 10-12 years - thus it has been approved for upgrade!

On-Time Trains Required - Rooty Hill Commuter

Justin from Rooty Hill travels from Rooty Hill at 5.50am by City Rail train  to Redfern train station and from there he has to transfer to another train to Rockdale, where he works. He has been travelling for 5 years on public transport and in that time no significant changes to improve his travelling on public transport.Before that he was travelling by car to Mascot to work but now finds public transport less stressful.

At the moment, he finds public transport not that reliable: late trains at Rooty Hill train station by 5 minutes, this makes him miss his transfer train and allows him to wait up to 20 minutes for the next train at Redfern. PM normally travelling doesn't seem to have these issues but if and when it happens he has issues with seating with finding available seats. He sometimes is left standing from Redfern. This also goes with cancelled trains. 

He is  just like every ordinary train commuter out West,  he requires on-time running train to make him reach work on-time, this will provide him and others with  better lifestyle!

Venus Priest, a concerned resident of Rooty Hill, is lobbying for a lifts, escalators and CCTV cameras. present, she has got approximately 500 signatures and has requested our support to promote this petition. We will provide our support for the improvements on Rooty Hill Station and will also extend to her to support from WSPTU and other Stake Transport Stake Holders.

    COMMUNITY PETITION (ROOTY  HILL TRAIN STATION)

We, the undersigned people of Rooty Hill and it surrounding areas request necessary action be taken in respect of Rooty Hill Station, in particular, we urgently require:

A) LIFT/ELEVATOR for the Elders & Pram Users. We have a large number of elders & Mothers with
     Prams and it is very hard for them to go up and down the stairs.
B)  CCTV CAMERAS  TO DETER BAG SNATCHING.  Commuters specially the early ones have
     experienced such unacceptable  & offensive behaviour. We need cameras & proper lighting within the
     vicinity. The area has becoming dangerous especially at night time.

     We need action to continue living a healthy life. The station has been neglected for years. Local State
     Members of Parliament have so far been ineffective on this issue. We put faith in your hands to please look
     at the situation
