Saturday Morning Trains Don't Match What Weekday Services Do!

David from Woodcroft  during the week catches the Busways 750 bus to Blacktown and then catches a Sydney Trains to train stations all over Sydney, as his job differs from destination  to destination from day-to-day.

He is very concerned that on Saturdays he has to get a lift from a friend of  his to Blacktown train station, as there is no early bus service taking him from home to Blacktown. As a tax payer, he is very passionate that no Saturday morning services run in his are and would like to see weekdays timetables to be included for Saturdays time tables. Quite a few people  (that he knows would catch this service.

Refurbish Train Carriages To Save Money For City Rail

A commuter that claims there's lots of improvements needed to be made with City Rail. Nimal from Wooodcroft, catches City Rail trains to the City and return from Doonside train station, Monday to Fridays.

His main concern is that we need more trains, especially after the train we were catching to Doonside, Mount Druitt (from Parramatta 4.17pm) had ample seating. Yet he claims the next train that heads out west would be overcrowded.

Train cleanliness - this mostly happens on old trains servicing the Western Line and providing newer trains would solve this problem. If the NSW Government doesn't have the money to provide newer trains then the older train carriages should be refurbished.

Providing newer trains would also solve the last issue for Nimal as he says there are a lot of trains carriages that have no heating and provide cold air in winter!

Editors Notes: Refurbished train carriages - great idea! This could save a lot of money and at the same time update technology with the  electrical parts of the carriage: electronic signs, emergency help points, heating/cooling and proper lighting.

What do you think about refurbishing old trains compared to purchasing new ones?

New Safety Measure Suggestion For City Rail Trains - Woodcroft Commuter

A  thinking gentleman Kumar, from Woodcroft travels return  from Doonside train station to St Leonards train station, Monday to Friday and finds it is common to him that  there are running late trains.

As individuals, missing a train to reach work and arrive late can  create mood changes towards your employer and the people you meet every day because you were not happy that you are waiting for the trains that take time to arrive or even miss your regular one!
he claims  most of the late issues  could be  based on shortage of staff and/or  not maintaining a high level of regular checking of train vehicle maintenance. This in itself can have a big impact in providing an improved efficient train service.

Kumar is also concerned when he travels after 7pm to home on trains and has noticed a high amount of women waiting at train stations and sitting in train carriages. This, in itself poses questions of safety and he feels one of the best ways to maintain safety in public transport trains would be to hire police/ transit officers at least two of them patrolling on each train station platform, where trains are arriving and leaving at night.
