Issues With MyMulti Tickets Out West...Not Meeting East!

Yes, yes &  yes, I met Lorraine and Peter from Cranebrook (alongside Penrith Lakes), on the train going west and we seemed to have hit altogether on a nerve or two on public transport with Mymulti tickets. And yes I AGREE!

So what is it, it will mean a lot to thousands out west and the Greater Western Sydney. We need to change what we don't have in the west to what we have in the east. In the west we lack updated technology to the new technology provided and serviced in  eastern and northern suburbs of Sydney. This leaves Sydney dissected into two sections in relation to public transport and we are currently in three regions.

The idea is simple, it is difficult to purchase Mymulti tickets from any local shops in the greater west. For anyone or even everyone, you have to travel to a train station to purchase any of your Mymulti tickets. Well, for some people you have to purchase an additional bus ticket to get to the train station. So what does that mean: it means that the NSW Government is collecting a little bit of  extra money from the west, when in the east, tickets can be  purchased from local shops. Why can't commuters purchase their tickets online and then able to download their tickets? That is the idea! See I told you, West should meet East, yet not in public transport!

Example of what technology we have in West ( below) to what is East and North (below here)!

WEST!
EAST!

Even Bus Drivers Require Public Transport!

Tonight, I met a  bus driver (no names mentioned) who may wish to do something about public transport in the area where he lives (a semi-rural area). Where he does claim there is a lack of public transport in regards to bus services.

I suggested, as we have no group in the area to contact us and we can see what we can do! Imagine that we will have a transport officer lobbying for  improved  public transport services, in Western Sudney! This can happen!

Mount Druitt Has A Great Storme Commuter!

A young exciting commuter Storme, from Mount Druitt claims there are lots of problems with timetables: that is trains coming on time and there is so much over crowdedness on trains that leave the City between the peak times of 4pm-6pm Monday to Friday. This leaves commuters with uncomfortable conditions: standing tightly squeezed and young ones not giving up seats to elderly

He stated, 'This is no good and needed to be addressed.' he advised me that to solve the solution would be for the NSW Government should provide either 10 minutes services to Mount Druitt or even provide express bus services to Mount Druitt and this will reduce the issue, provide better comfort for commuters, leaving a more suitable approach, providing more access to more seats.

Strome is from a local group call 'Soul Benefits'

'here is one of the bands songs:

Commuter Thinking Of His NSW Transport Future MasterPlan!

Yesterday, I met another exciting gentleman from Pendle Hill, Vijay has quickly got his idea of a CityRail Masterplan for the future and it sounds so simple:

From Sydney City there should be divided into 3 pinpoint main train stations leaving 3 segments of different distance. This is where fast trains will have their first stop and after that it can be all stations after that!

Does this sound good? - He will submit his idea either through WSPTU or direct to the NSW Government Transport Future Masterplan.

Quick Reason Why We Need To Move People To Public Transport!

Yesterday morning  I did the unusual. That is, unknowingly to vehicles on the corner of  Bulolo Drive and Luxford Roads Whalan. I did a quick 10 minute survey and was more than surprised of the results.

I completed the survey between 6.20am- 6.30am:

Vehicles Number of people Number of Cars Total number of people Number of EmptySeats Empty Seats
2 Seater     1 1 1 1 0.59
2 Seater 2 4 8 0 0
5 Seater 1 22 22 88 51.92
5 Seater 2 5 10 15 8.85
8 Seater 1 3 3 21 12.39
Totlals 35 44 125 73.75

So what can you see and think of future public transport - what a waste of seats - 73.75% not travelling! Provide us your feed back! Even do you your own survey  in your own area!

Warning To Ladies At Mount Druitt Train Station

Sometimes we have sad or gloomy things to advise or  decide not to advise as  we as individuals can not educate every single member of the Mount Druitt Community. Yet the thousands of community members that read our blog, can  be alarmed and assist  the community member  that sent out the below e-mail  ( e-mail address withdrawn from e-mail):

Hello Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group
Pervert Alert mornings at Mount Druitt Station Platform 2.
Warning to all Mount Druitt Station morning travellers – on two occasions 17 Feb and 3 April  - a male wearing a baseball cap has been observed at the stairs on Platform 2 to be looking up womens skirts.  Both instances have been reported to Cityrail , however no action has been taken by Cityrail to date.
I have suggested that Cityrail do 3 things:  Check the surveillance tapes, place a Pervert Alert warning at top of stairs and install a modesty barrier attached to the lower stair rail on platform 1&2.  Unfortunately no action has been taken by Cityrail since first instance reported on 17 Feb.
Perhaps if more people become aware Cityrail may be able to curb this behaviour.
We, members of the Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc. condone this behaviour  by any member of the community  and suggest that  any community member that faces this situation, should immediately contact:

Blackett Commuter With Real Transport Stories - Believe It!

A frustrated lady at the bus stop interchange, Belinda from Blackett has  important timing issues with leaving work from Rooty Hill, catching train at 8.10pm and meeting Busways 758 bus  at 8.15 - arrives at correct time - yet bus has departed early -  leaving, others & myself stranded. I've told her to contact 131500 and provide her a fridge magnet with 131500 contact.

In the morning no problems going to work 2 trains ending with Busways 756 taking her to Rooty Hill.

On one occasion, she has witnessed a gentleman in  wheelchair waiting on the platform of Rooty Hill Train Station and she asked him how he got to the train station as it is not accessible.

He answered that he gets off a country train at Rooty Hill, and then calls the an owner of a small business to meet him on the platform. The owner meets him there, they transact their own business and leave their own ways.

On another occasion , she has seen a lady on a wheel chair take her wheel chairs down the steps - this could cause an accident!

Commuter Has Taxi Driver Fears !

An interesting young commuter , travels to and from Mount Druitt to work as a chef in a popular  fast food store. When I  had introduced myself and the group to him, his reaction was astounding and pleasantly unusual, 'Mad'!

The word, 'Mad' to the younger generation can  mean, ' Great', especially in the context that Zac had used it! This is as opposed to being 'Mad'!

He advised that, 'Commuting on trains and buses is fun, great to meet friends at the train station and go places' As he catches Busways 754/750 to and from Mount Druitt he find patronage on  buses services  quite well full and night-time there is very less commuters.

I think he will be SMS texting bus top numbers as Hugh Worrall and myself were showing him how it is used.

Zac's only issue in public transport is that he is worried travelling along in taxi's is unsure  where taxi drivers will take you, yet he is alright when he is travelling with other commuters, his confidence builds and his fear of being alone with taxi drivers is gone!

Commuters That Remember The Past- Great Connections.....!

It is not just Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs that have great people. Great people are commonly known to you but not to the greater world. Here is one that goes back a long way.

As we commute for years on years, we meet new people and sometimes they disappear - I mean go their own way and you never see them again - or do you?

And the true story goes...  My wife and I went to a private function where I was introduced to someone called , 'David' - which at first didn't cause any striking memory with me After a few minutes of making table conversation. and then David asked myself a few startling questions.

'Did I ever catch a bus along Belmore Road Whalan?' I answered,'Yes!' Then he started saying that after meeting me tonight he waited to hear my voice & then work out who I was & there was the connection - over 12 years ago, we used to get the same bus and then train and have good conversation. He remembered a friend of his introduced myself to him and later on he got married and recently has a  boy child. Wow we  have commuters that remember great commuting travel!

Free Bus Shuttles - Other Possibilities For Mount Druitt

Commuters from all over Mount Druitt are providing suggestions of the extension of the proposed Free Bus Shuttle. Blake started it  and can search under the label 'Blake's Way' and recently there was a proposal to extend the route to Rooty Hill.

A few months ago there was a suggestion that the bus route is extended to Rooty Hill shops - Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson will look into it via Blacktown City Council.

Today another local legend in thinking, Leonard from Whalan has thought about extensions to The Mount Druitt via Woodstock Road and  head to Belmore Road, linking to Minchinbury - this will meet commuters that need to at different shops,  other community  groups and organising around the proposed route and provide a better link to Mount Druitt South.

My suggestion is to let the Mount Druitt Free Bus Shuttle be approved, have its trial period, if it is so successful and utilised, then extensions of the proposed serviced  can be reviewed to be exteneded.
