St Marys Option For Rail Link To Proposed Badgerys Creek 2nd Sydney International Airport - Sydney Morning Herald

This is another  rail proposal that has been introduced by the NSW Government, since their office of election between Mount Druitt and St Marys train stations that makes these 2 areas important hubs.

The one good thing is  there is plans for new rail infrastructure and services out west, creating ample job opportunity and a further transport link to the  Federal Government's announcement of the 2nd Sydney International Airport based in Badgerys Creek.

I support a recommendation by one of our group members. George Nicolaides OAM, recommendation to seek extension of train services from St Marys, Dunheved, Ropes Crossing and to Riverstone- providing another rail Loop. Maybe, in future this could be considered.

Spilt Water Raises Striking Conversation On Sydney Trains - St Marys Commuter!

Another amazing commuter can I say!

Sometimes when we travel on Sydney Trains, we either travel empty handed or we are carting with us some sort of bag or in some cases bags. When we are able to take a seat, we then settle ourselves down with bags  that carry our daily needs.

In my case the other day, my bag was rest on my lap as I was about to read a journal and I felt something on the right of my trousers. When I checked with my right hand  there was a  spot of water dripping from my water bottle ( which I realised was not tightened).
Then I also notice a bit of it went on the young man sitting next to me called Jamie, from St Marys.

Thinking to myself I was think how will this commuter react once I tell him - but as I advised him what I did we both laugh and  he was alright. We then started a English Soccer  League  (EPL) conversation as he was reading  a book of a life of one of the Liverpool players from 20-30 years ago. I was happy that he  wasn't negative to my accident that happened. Thank God!

He later was advised of our Group details and  was  very appreciative of what we are doing for the community. We both though there might other commuters who meet on Sydney Trains and  create  other striking conversations.

International Student Requires Fair Public Transport Student Fares!

A young gentleman Student, Saqib from St Marys, travels daily by Sydney Trains from St Marys train station  to Central train station. He also fits in ten minutes of walk every day to and from St Marys train station and also to and from Central to UTS ( University of Technology).

As an international student he is paying at least $250 per month for public transport trains and is not provided a discount as an international student, where domestic students are provided a 50 percent  fare reduction. This fare should be charged at the same rate for each student, as the cost for international students is expensive. 

Saqib was saying you cannot distinguish between either domestic or international students, there are all students, and should be treated equally, which he considers is important.

The other issue he has, is that on the Western Line, Sydney Trains are providing a lot of older train carriages that don't have a temperature control system and it is hard to travel in comfort when the weather is 6 degrees and you have gushing cold air circulating on commuter faces. the immediate change need to be done to provide  more improved, modern temperature controlled carriages.

This is not too bad from an international student, concerned of fares and commuter comfort, what are thoughts? We invite your comments?

PA System Required In Buses For Bus Drivers To Be Heard!

What would you do if  you suddenly entered a bus that read '758 to St Marys'  and then the bus driver politely announces that the sign was incorrect. It should have read '758 Mount Druitt to Shalvey'?

Some people heard it and left the bus immediately, mumbling a few comments to themselves. Some others didn't hear it, got off and had to either walk further or wait for the next 758 bus to take them to their final destination, St Marys.

This is a situation where a PA system should be installed so that if drivers have something to say to the bus commuters, they can announce it clearly and all can hear!
