City Rail Private Maintenance Contractors - Maybe Endangering Their Lives!
A Transport Officer from NSW has advised that now the NSW Government has privatised its rail maintenance centres in Sydney there has been more potential health and safety risks being reported endangering lives.
There was an circumstance when there was 2 private contractors working actually on the maintenance of the railway line directly and City Rail knew nothing about as trains were travelling on the line - somewhere in the communication department there was lost wires of communication. No communication was received or communicated to City Rail.
Young commuters are being very clever now-a-days. When they travel by train to the City - they block their feet on the closing electronic train doors, which prevents the doors from closing by the guard - the guard has to instruct them not to do that as block the doors to 'let their running late mates in' on the train. By doing this causes complete delays in the Sydney rail network for commuters and transport officers. This is probably the time when we require more policing on stations and trains when they know heaps of people travel to these events.

Station Managers No Longer - Replaced By City Rail Shift Duty Managers!
About 2 months ago, reliable transport officer within NSW had advised to myself of dramatic cuts being made within City Rail, which I was shocked to hear.
As a non-politician, myself, I understand when a new government comes to power, they sweep the old 'deadwood' from what they say is the budget closets for the first 1-2 years and then they place more funds spending, replacing the deadwood and going back to rehiring. In theatrical acting it could be called 'Dress Rehearsal'.
So, when I was told that all Train Station Masters will be made redundant by July this year I wasn't sure whether to believe it or not until I received an contact from Sydney Alliance that they have met with the Minister of Transport, raising safety concerns on main Junction train Stations. It mentions how 118 train Station Masters will lose their jobs - Mount Druitt is not mentioned as it isn't a junction train station.
The current Train Station Master of Mount Druitt and myself have been discussing safety improvement required at Mount Druitt train station as we are working together to have a safer commuter community. We both agree Mount Druitt should be included in the Sydney Alliance request for train safety stations.
So the transport officer that had provided this information to myself, knows what he or she is talking about! Apparently the Tran Station Managers/Masters will be replaced by shift Duty Managers.

Without People Running City Rail People Can't Catch Their Own Trains!
People tell me lots of things and although it is just one person/ individual telling myself some hot gossip, it is not confirmed until you start haring it from someone else or from the media! Yet everyone has a right to say what they believe in, having the knowledge knowing where the source of information is coming from.
By now, you are all thinking what is he leading too. I'm leading to information provided to me, from one source that sounds ironic, strange, weird unless we know if it is true. What I have been told is a secret that will be known in the future, so I have been told - so as I was told 2 weeks ago - I am telling it now as I think we have reached that future.

Apparently by June/ July 2013 all train stations will not have a Station Master running the day to day business of running a train station, within Sydney's City Rail network - due to redundancies!
Don't worry Duty Managers will be appointed to run train station in their absence, who seem to be less experienced then train station managers. I hope that one day there will never be no employees on train stations as you do need people to run the ground work of City Rail's train network.
We'll see what happens around mid year to see if it is true!

Improvements Required With Buses And Trains - Rooty Commuter!
Another day of a wonderful lady from Rooty Hill, Barbara coming with so much improvements for public transport, these could be listened too carefully by the public transport stake holders.
Barbara travels 10 days in a row by City Rail from Mount Druitt to Town Town hall and return for work. She leaves early in the mornings by car as there are no 754 buses at around 5am time table to take her and others to Mount Druitt train station.
What she would like to see with train improvement is air-conditioning in winter is too cold. It appears when they turn it on for cooling/heating it not turn on early enough in the day and this creates total discomfort. If it was turn on early in the morning, then this would provide better benefits to to the commuter in relation to carriages having correct temperature control.
She has found with City Rail Track work sometime there seems to be little or no connection form trains reaching Auburn and then waiting an hour or so for the next bus. The buses do not seem to match the time tabled arrival of the trains - bus tends to depart before you reach the bus stand. So a suggestion would be a minimum of 20 minutes between each service a t Auburn heading west.
It appears our public transport fares are going up, yet we are paying for the same services, nothing is different no improvement being seen. In London they have 2 minute trains services- maybe we could be like them but they are privately owned.
Editors notes; All the above points are valid points - should be looked into!

Feed Back On Train Station Gates City Rail - Customer Service Manager - West
We have had a quick response from Dimitri Hondros, City Rail Customer Service Manager - West, in relation to an enquiry that I was referred to yesterday.
In fact before I quote what he said it was so pleasing to get such a quick response and I personally would like to say 'Thank you' to Mr. Hondros for his instant reply.
His reply is, 'The only time the wide gate is left in the open position is when it is left unattended, for instance if gate staff go down to the platform to pick up correspondence or assist a wheelchair customer, at all other times the wide gate is to remain closed.' He further mentioned, 'Otherwise why have gates at all, everyone would simply walk through the wide gate!'
Check out original request provide to myself yesterday!

Editors notes: This where I agree for revenue purposes that the gate/barriers should be closed. In fact, I think if someone is struggling with luggage - maybe the barrier/gate can be opened.
