Our Group Members Meet Ed Husic, Federal Member of Chifley!

A few months ago, the Honorary Mr. Ed Husic, Federal Member for Chifley asked myself(as a President of Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc.), if our group would like to meet him. This, I found made me feel proud of how we got to where we are today, not just  for myself, but  for every single member of our group and our community! For a Federal Member of Government to want to understand what we are doing, when the majority of our issues are locally related and result in changes from a State Government, this is really telling you something!

The general consensus from the members of the group was that Ed Husic wanted to 'hear' what the group was doing locally from the recent bus trip around our own Mount Druitt area, to lobbying for  improved bus services within the area, as specific details had been given to him. Comments raised were that he was fair and gave everyone a fair chance to speak and have their say.

Although Ed thought Mount Druitt had a Free Shuttle bus already in operation, he didn't realise it wasn't running but it is a proposed  Free Shuttle Bus route we are lobbying for Mount Druitt. He informed members that as a representative of the Australian Federal Government, he will be catching up with Member for Mount Druitt, Honorary Richard Amery to discuss these issues.

Wouldn't it be nice if all matters of all decisions came from Federal
Government!

Ed Husic Likes Our Post Regarding Shuttle Bus Petition- Facebook!

If you go to Ed Husic's Facebook site:

Ed Husic, Federal Labor for Chifley

You can post comments, as long as they are polite, and use language that is not offensive, view and view  posts he has published. This social network of communication allows a Federal Member of  Parliament to stay connected to the community and this bring the people of the community into the daily events of what all Members of  Australian  Federal Government are doing within the community.

Ed,

It was Great to meet again with you tonight and on behalf of our Group (Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc) we would like to meet up with you to discuss what we are working towards.

As you may know we have launched the Mount Druitt Free Shuttle Bus Petiton - that we suggest anyone can download and post back to us:

Prime Minister Travels in and around Rooty Hill But Not On Public Transport!

A nice young  lady Cam from Rooty Hill is aware our lovely Prime Minister Julia Gillard is in Rooty Hill, yet is wondering why  instead of  future great public transport why not try out our current public transport, trains and buses to understand what people are  going through.

Although Cam was shocked that for 2 days we have had nil response from the Prime Minister of Australia for the support of our local Free  Bus Shuttle, other s may not be should as we all expect little or no support from our leaders and peers that run our nation, state and  local community. Although, in due time maybe before the declared Federal election in September 2013, will the support be provided. One or many can only hope!

I have seen Federal Member for Lindsay, David Bradbury catch trains before, in the early morning - unbeknown to him I was and still am a public transport advocate. He appeared to be busy reading and discussing matters, with the lady that accompanied him. This I found to be very pleasing and it also appeared, no one else knew who he was around him!

So Far Generic Response From Prime Minister Julia Gillard Regarding Request For Support Free Bus Shuttle Mount Druitt!

We refer to our request to sent yesterday to the Honourable Prime Minister Julia Gillard, in relation to the to  our Free Bus Shuttle Petition. We response which asks not to respond and advised that it may be referred to a Minister of The Australian Federal Government.
So far there is a bureaucrat just looking after the e-mail and maybe the Prime minister may not even see the e-mail or if not will not be provided the e-mail.
Sp far our phones are not running hot with call from the PM's Office or even any other Ministers Office!
When I viewed Julia Gillard's speech at the University of Western Sydney Rydalmere ( on ABC News 24 on the 3rd March 2013), she emphasised how import was public transport in Western Sydney. If this is true, I would assume she would knock on our door and support us, if not then that answers her statement  regarding public transport!
I'l be astounded if the PM knocks on our door!
