Options To Travel To Work - Minchinbury Commuter!

A recently converted private car user to public transport (3 months ago), Maria from Minchinbury has found she has multiple ways and methods to get to work to Macquarie Park:

1. From Mount Druitt to Strathfield and then change to Macquarie Park
2. Catches from Mount Druitt express train to City and then transfers to Macquarie Park
3. Caches train to Blacktown from Mount Druitt and then catches T-Way bus to Macquarie Park

How she decides to travel and choose her direction is how she feels.

She decided that due to private car running costs of just petrol $100 per week and then maintenance as well to 'leave the car at home' and use public transport as the Multi3 ticket only costs $60 per week, allowing her to save as hard as possible and ride in comfort. Her main issues is she would like to see more express train services to get to her work destination in quicker time.

How Many Tickets Required For Barriers - Mount Druitt Commuter!

Mother with ticketing issues, confuses police officer, who checks the tickets through the electronic barriers. The mother had three children and had one ticket to cover the four commuters - yet the barriers only allow one person at time to pass through the barriers.


Although the mother wasn't given tickets for the free child, to use the electronic machines. So NSW for transport has to think of something correct with ticketing, so that the correct pay fare commuters are not burdened for free paying child commuters not having a ticket!


The police office did the right thing and let them go and said he would check it out - this can also confuse police officers who are trying to do their job and catch legitimate fare evaders!

Blackett Commuter Happier With More Accessible Buses

George, a senior  wheel chair commuter from Blackett, has seen improvements in public transport with buses within Mount Druitt. 

Now there is more accessible buses, when approximately 10 years ago he was catching taxis to and from the area , which  was costly for him in those days.


Although, he finds accessible buses extremely important for him to catch compared to having accessible bus stops, he does have accessible bus stops that allow him to catch the accessible buses. If he didn't have these accessible buses , we wouldn't be able to commute around in buses, thus believes accessible bus stops, make it easier to catch public transport within the area. The longest he had to wait for an accessible bus is 45 minutes so far - worth the wait to go around!

'Time Maintenance' Required For Kingswood Bus Commuter

A young Deepesh from Kingswood who travels 2-3 times per week by train to and from Kingswood to Blacktown and guesses that everything is fine with trains within NSW Public transport.


Sometimes he catches the Westbus 775 to Kingswood to reach home and asks that the 'time maintenance' be looked at to fix up late running buses. Yet given that he has he has never thought of answer of how to fix up this problem, he has no answers to how this can be fixed up, he just wants this issue fixed up for himself and others commuters.

One Train To Replace Three - Yes to 'Y' Train - Mount Druitt Commuter!

Ken  a hard working commuter from Mount Druitt, catches three trains to Ingleburn, which can take up to 1 hour and twenty-one minutes to reach Ingleburn in the morning and then he has a healthy walk for 20 minutes to his work.


Ken, would like one train to replace transfers at Granville and Glenfield train stations, or at least one station eliminated for trains. He is all for the go ahead to increase the Penrith to Liverpool 'Y' ,train service  or even extended to Campbelltown train station from Penrith, especially in peak times

Less Study Time - UWS Student, Lalor Park!

A young female University of Western Sydney Student from Lalor Park, Saba, in the morning has to walk from her home past the Busways 743 bus stop and catch buses on the T-Way, as there is irregular times that buses come and claims never on time.

She is so thankful there is a T-Way that allows her to catch these buses to Blacktown Station. It is estimated that her walking is an extra 5-8 minutes per day which could be spent more on her studies. In the afternoon trip there is no problems she does catch the Busways 743 home.

The solution to her problem is to request a transport representative from Transport for NSW to monitor this bus service and check it's arrival and departure around Lalor Park and compare it to time tables. She has no major issues with trains and is quite happy twith their services.

Opportunity For More Increased Commuters But Promotion Of Public Transport Required, First!

A wonderful, fairly recent male commuter from originally 
Afghanistan, currently living in St Clair, Didar wanted to share his great thoughts and views on public transport and found this a great opportunity to do so.


He is a regular train commuter to Auburn train station and says he has no problems using the buses from St Clair except some lateness to reach Mount Druitt train station. 

Didar would like to see more people become public transport commuters as opposed to always using private cars. If more commute to and from any destinations by using public transport there will be less congestion on roads and less vehicles being used on roads. Fuel usage would also reduce and would all benefit for a much improved public transport, well patronised system. He would like NSW Government in conjunction with NSW for Transport to focus on promoting public transport, yet is unsure how the government can do this as a priority.

Cleaner Taxi's Required In Mount Druitt

A lady from Whalan called Di. now appreciates the upgraded bus stops that our group has been lobbying for with our area. Especially at the corner of Waikanda Crescent & Luxford Roads, Whalan, where this bus stop allows her to catch three buses heading to Mount Druitt: 674, 755 & 780. As she understands we had some input in let the ears of Blacktown City Council (via Council Officers and Councilors) as they listened as and they have listened to get this done.


One of her issues as a regular taxi commuter while she returns from shopping, and it is the condition of taxis around the area is not up to standard or compliant:  taxis are basically dirty (not cleaned regularly),  broken doors & seats sometimes and sometimes the drivers don't know where they are going. Her perception of the type of condition and service of  taxi around Mount Druitt is second rated.


The solution is to have a general inspection on the condition of the vehicle either monthly or quarterly, organised by a combination New South Wale Taxi Council  and Blacktown Council Transport/Traffic representative and  regulated by New South Wales for Transport representative. The objective will be to ensure taxis are complied to cleanliness for public use and then a proper standard condition sis maintained. They need to keep up their game by being professional!


Buses are usually alright with seating condition and bus condition of cleanliness and are generally on time tabled serve - yet there is not much room for accessibility for commuters that require this type of bus service.
